Student Life at Lincoln College-Normal

The Student Life division of the Office of Residential and Student Life is responsible for a wide array of programs, services, and facilities. Our primary focus is creating an environment that encourages student growth, development, and learning through participation and engagement.

The main function of Student Life is to collaborate with students, faculty, and staff to create opportunities to engage with the campus community. This includes everything from providing welcoming spaces to large scale programming to leadership opportunities to specialized learning environments and activities.

Student Commons

Student Life offers several facilities for students and staff to utilize. The Student Commons, located on the ground floor of Building 721, is designed to be a fun space for students to hang out, meet, or study in. It includes:

  • A variety of comfortable seating and table options
  • A foosball table
  • A pool table
  • Several computers
  • Printing capabilities
  • A Wii
  • An Xbox 360 with Kinect
  • A variety of games, movies, and sporting equipment available for checkout

The Student Commons is also Lincoln College-Normal’s primary programming space. It is available for reservation using the Student Life Space Reservation Request Form. Within the Student Commons is the LCN Fitness Center. We provide a modest collection of fitness equipment and wellness materials which we hope encourages a healthier lifestyle.

Fitness Center

The Fitness Center is open anytime the Student Commons is open and is available to all students, faculty, and staff free of charge. The Fitness Center includes a universal weight machine, several cardio machines (treadmills, ellipticals, steppers, and stationary bikes), as well as stability and medicine balls.

Also available to students and staff is the Fitness and Recreation Center at Heartland Community College.

Student Involvement Center

Student Life also maintains the Student Involvement Center, located in Apartment 2 of Building 727, behind the Security Office. The Student Involvement Center is designed to support students and student groups by providing several different meeting and work spaces. This space is open from noon until midnight every day and is also available for reservation.
